About the Course

The course covers power reactor fuel design, performance, and safety, building on reactor core, thermal-hydraulic, and safety system concepts. Students study fuel types, burnup behaviour, fuel manufacturing and reprocessing, quality assurance, and CANDU fuel specifications. Core topics include fuel properties, fission product behaviour, defect detection, in-reactor performance, and fuel behaviour under normal and accident conditions.
