Canada’s Nuclear Industry

Canada’s nuclear industry is entering a period of significant growth. Investments in reactor refurbishment, Small Modular Reactors (SMRs), life-extension projects, and new nuclear technologies are creating unprecedented demand for skilled professionals across engineering, operations, project management, regulation, and supporting disciplines.

At the same time, the industry is undergoing a significant workforce transition. Many experienced professionals who entered the sector during Canada’s major nuclear expansion are approaching retirement, while a new generation of professionals is entering a rapidly evolving industry. This transition is creating a knowledge gap that organizations across the nuclear sector are working to address.

UNENE’s Professional Development Program helps bridge this gap through practical, industry-focused learning delivered by experts with real-world nuclear experience. Courses cover key areas of the industry, world nuclear experience.

Courses cover key areas of the industry, including CANDU Design, Nuclear Power Plant Operations, Nuclear Fuel Engineering, Nuclear Safety, and Small Modular Reactors.
