Course Description
This course covers the elements of the nuclear regulations in Canada, the nuclear regulatory acts, various aspects of the nuclear regulations, and regulatory standards and requirements. The course describes the nuclear regulatory body, CNSC, organization and operation, various processes and international basis for Canadian regulations. The course describes the requirements and preparation of documents for application for operating licence and the Licensing Conditions Handbook. The regulatory compliance and reporting processes and the nuclear safety issues management and R&D are described. Also, the course covers the regulatory guidance and requirements in nuclear plants refurbishment and decommissioning. The course also covers the Canadian international obligations, including the IAEA and other international organizations.
