Industry Members
UNENE’s industry partners play a critical role in shaping research and educational direction. These members contribute expert insights on evolving sector needs and participate in advisory committees that align university efforts with real-world applications, particularly in the context of Canada’s CANDU nuclear fleet.
Several members, including Ontario Power Generation and Bruce Power, directly sponsor Industrial Research Chairs, enabling university researchers to lead projects that are nationally and internationally recognized. UNENE-funded research often serves as a launchpad for larger, grant-leveraged programs that benefit the entire sector.

Government Members
UNENE acts as a bridge between academia, industry, and government. Our government members contribute to national conversations around nuclear science, safety, and policy, helping to shape UNENE’s research direction and long-term strategy.
Key government collaborators include Natural Resources Canada and the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission, both of which help identify emerging trends and areas of strategic importance. In addition, Canadian Nuclear Laboratories (CNL)—operated on behalf of Atomic Energy of Canada Ltd.—offers both funding and governance support as part of UNENE’s Board of Directors.
