Governance
UNENE is guided by a diverse and experienced Board of Directors, composed of representatives from both its academic member institutions and industry partners. This balanced governance structure ensures a strong connection between academic excellence and the strategic priorities of Canada’s nuclear sector.
Supporting the Board are two specialized advisory committees:
- The Education Advisory Committee (EAC) provides leadership and oversight for UNENE’s academic programming.
- The Research Advisory Committee (RAC) provides leadership and oversight for UNENE’s nuclear research strategy.
Each committee is made up of academic and industry leaders who collaborate to foster innovation, quality, and impact across all initiatives. Both committees report regularly to the Board of Directors, offering strategic input and updates on program results.
The Board and its advisory bodies meet routinely to evaluate progress, shape direction, and ensure alignment with UNENE’s mission to advance nuclear knowledge, build capacity, and promote innovation. The Board also appoints UNENE’s executive officers, including the President & CEO, Secretary/Treasurer, and Program Director.
